About the Author

Mabel Aguirre-Ford is the founder of DreamLand Libros and its first published author. She was born in Costa Rica. Her family embarked on a life-altering journey to the United States in 1990, motivated by the pursuit of the American dream. They settled in Northwest Arkansas, where Mabel quickly adapted to her new environment. Demonstrating remarkable dedication, she mastered English, thrived academically, and, in 2007, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arkansas.

Mabel’s passion for education and helping others shaped her early career. She spent five years teaching in Rogers, Arkansas, profoundly impacting the lives of her students. Her commitment to educational excellence led her to a role as an Academic Advisor at the University of Arkansas, where she guided students through their academic journeys with empathy and expertise.

In 2015, Mabel transitioned to the corporate sector, joining Walmart as an Instructional Designer. This role allowed her to leverage her educational background and innate storytelling abilities to develop engaging learning materials for employees worldwide.

Despite her successes in education and the corporate world, Mabel’s lifelong passion for books and storytelling never waned. In 2023, she channeled this passion into founding DreamLand Libros LLC, a private publishing house dedicated to producing books that not only uplift but also inspire readers of all ages. This venture is a testament to her belief in the power of stories to change lives and her commitment to sharing that power with the world.

Today, Mabel resides in Texas with her husband and two sons. She is a businesswoman, an author, and a devoted wife and mother. She homeschools her two boys and is instilling in them a love for learning and literature. Her journey from immigrant to influential author and entrepreneur is a profound narrative of perseverance, faith, and love.

The Illustrator

Jasmine Meadows is a gifted illustrator renowned for her captivating digital portraits and children’s book illustrations. Born and in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California, Jasmine’s childhood was richly infused with a love for artistic expression. From an early age, she delighted in crafting drawings, cards, and beautifully penned notes for her family and friends, a testament to her innate passion for art and creating joy through her work.

In 2019, Jasmine transitioned her talent into the digital realm, specializing in digital portraits that allow individuals to commemorate and celebrate their loved ones in unique and meaningful ways. Her work, characterized by its emotional depth and meticulous attention to detail, quickly garnered appreciation and acclaim.

The year 2023 marked a significant milestone in Jasmine’s career as she ventured into the world of children’s book illustration. Inspired and encouraged by a close friend from her church community, she embraced this new creative avenue, bringing stories to life with her vibrant and imaginative illustrations. This venture has not only expanded her professional repertoire but also deepened her contribution to fostering a love for reading and art in young minds.

Currently residing in Boise, Idaho, Jasmine Meadows continues to inspire and enchant with her artwork.
